Inspired by the film “The Grand Budapest Hotel” Midnight at the Flambabosa is an impactful student film that comments on how we over-romanticise people and encounters in life by being overexposed to exaggerated and unreal encounters, emotions, reactions, and outcomes.
Classified as a romantic drama Midnight at the Flambabosa encourages viewers to be confronted with reality. Making use of a dream-like setting achieved through music, color lighting and flamboyant character stylings the viewer is able to differentiate between reality and fantasy depictions and also draws attention to the main characters’ first-person experiences through these techniques.
"In the creation of Midnight at the Flambabosa, our brief included creating a short film through the use of classic film and editing techniques.
